July 16

I woke at 5:17 again this morning, but when I closed my eyes to try and remember my dream I ended up falling back asleep before I could write that one down.

*I am in my mom’s house… I can’t tell if I am visiting or if I live here. I can tell there is a lot of activity just outside of my range of vision/hearing… but I’m alone inside the house. Everyone else is busy with other plans. I’ve been here all day. I planned on going out (I think about going to the mall or the video arcade, I think I might run into TS there) but I’ve been falling asleep on the couch a lot. I feel like I’ve wasted the day sleeping when I could have been doing more things. I look at a clock and see it is past 8 p.m., and I haven’t even showered yet. I go into the bathroom – I don’t have anything of my own here. I’m standing in the tub washing my hair (though there is no shower head or curtain in this tub… and the tub is filled with water up to my knees as though I’m taking a bath, but my hair is wet) I look around for shampoo, I’ll have to borrow my mom’s… she bought some weird kind… the bottles have magnets on the back so you can stick them to the tiles in the shower. The tiles are dark brown – like they were when I was very young. I pick up the bottle and go to squeeze some shampoo in my hand, but it is granular… like bath salts. It’s supposed to turn into foam once you rub it in your hair. The smell is strong… fruity… I have the bottle of conditioner in my hand so I put it down and grab the shampoo instead. I kneel down in the tub… which I see is lined with cedar planks. I can feel the planks give a little as I kneel. I also see there is a socket to plug in a whirlpool attachment here, but the socket is on the inside of the tub. That doesn’t seem entirely safe to me.

*S and I are at a car show… we see three old classic cars (look like Model T’s of some kind) that are being sold in a set. On a whim we pick them up, even though I was looking at a different kind of new car all together. They are parked in our driveway which runs up around behind our house. I have to drive O to school and I’m deciding which car we should take, amazed that we actually have so many cars that I have a choice on what to drive. I’m standing at the top of the driveway in the far back portion of the property looking at the cars… and realizing none have any amenities (heaters, air conditioners) and really aren’t practical as daily drivers. I wonder why I didn’t think of this before we bought them.
