July 20

I took notes last night but lost the details of the first nightmare by the end of the day.  I recall a great feeling of panic through most of this dream, but the notes aren’t bringing back the details.  Here are my notes for this one:

*running / roller coaster  Monster reduced to ash but coming back.  Running… hide in bar.  Friends can help.  Chases motorcycles.  house, rots in back… “time machine”

*I’m in a building under attack.  Seems to be surrounded by toy soldiers, we can take them out with a bb gun – not sure if this is a real attack or some kind of simulation.  I have to go up an elevator… the elevator doesn’t have any walls or doors, there are things to hold onto sticking out of the basic frame.  I hold onto a handle tightly… I feel a swooping feeling in my stomach as the elevator ascends, panic as we climb higher, I can see all the way down and I’m afraid of falling.  My palms are sweaty, my grip slips slightly as the elevator comes to a stop. We sneak onto a high floor of the building (we have to crawl off the elevator to make sure we don’t fall down)  into some kind of closet.  We need towels, or swatches of fabric to help with the battle.

*I’m searching through boxes for files.  My phone is beeping at me persistently… I know I need to be back at my desk to answer the e-mails – I’m receiving a series of messages, but I have to get these files and people keep stopping me from getting back to my desk.  I walk down the hall of my parent’s house, I’m coming out of the office at the end of the hall… I reach a door that should go to my office, but instead I walk straight into a 2 car garage.  There is a musty piece of fabric tossed on the cement floor to catch oil drips from the car usually parked here.  I stop short, I hear the echo of my footsteps on the walls.  “Damnit!” I yell at myself, “how the fuck did I get turned around in such a small building?”  My phone (pager?) beeps again, I need to get back to my desk and get to work.
